I'm a Malayali who has very little links to our culture, but I've been trying to get closer to it by watching Malayalam films over the past decade. I thought I knew quite a bit about Malayalam Cinema...until I met Vishal Menon of @FilmCompanionSouth .

For anyone who's stuck in contemporary Malayalam Cinema like me(Premam is the best film daww), this is a starter pack, a master class, a history lesson all rolled into one. Vishal would claim this is a super basic guide but I was just blown away. Hope you like it!
