Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Robert Strang on Friday urged residents to stay home and follow physical distancing guidelines, stating that he is “increasingly concerned” about community transmission in the province.
Dr. Strang confirmed at least one case of community spread in the province, and said Nova Scotia is receiving more cases that do not appear linked to travel.
Nova Scotia confirmed 14 new cases of COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 207.
On Thursday, Nova Scotia extended its state of emergency by two weeks. The province also announced a pair of funds that are meant to help workers and small businesses.
