A full walk-out basement has a concrete patio out the back door on the main level and only one egress window in the home, unless you choose to add more. The windows are taller and the entire back of the house is exposed and has siding, brick, or stucco on it. There is also another walk-out door to the patio from the basement.

A daylight basement allows more daylight into the back, normally in the rear of the home. The windows are not quite as tall and there is a deck on the back instead of a patio with a set of stairs to get to the backyard.
