An exhibition in Jerusalem entitled "Live and Die as Eva Braun" that encourages people to have a "virtual experience" of romantic intimacy with Hitler has sparked controversy in Israel. A young Israeli artist has created the "virtual reality" for viewers who "become" Hitler's mistress Eva Braun. But they can experience much more than romantic intimacy with Hitler. They can also see a representation of him committing suicide and then take a trip to hell.
The exhibition, which also features black and white photographs, deals with the Holocaust, Nazism and German culture. The Israeli Museum, where it is showing, was flooded with complaints, including one from city officials in Jerusalem.

SOT Roee Rosen, Artist (in English): "One has to divide between two different layers that the world tries to operate on. First it deals with contemporary consciousness, it approaches the viewer him or herself, and Eva Braun and Hitler are just vehicles for that. The reason for the other layer which one is really trying to come to terms with is that the monstrosities of the Holocaust came and were caused by human beings" ;
