Outback Power talks with altE's Andrea to introduce their future medium voltage MPPT solar charge controller, the FlexMax Ultra. The unit is capable of managing up to 6000 watts of solar panels on a 48V battery bank. The medium voltage charge controller can have panels wired in series up to 300V, which allows up to six 60 cell (20 volt) solar panels in series. Three models are available, 80A and 100A without arc fault protection, and a 100A with arc fault protection. The 80A model does not have any moving parts, the 100A models have a fan. All models are NEMA-3R for outdoor installation. The FlexMax Ultra is scheduled for release mid-2017.
