The central park is about 430,000 square meters wide and opened at the foot of Mt. Majisan in July 1994. It is known as a filming location for movies, dramas, and advertisements, and is also well-known overseas as a tourist destination.
It has beautiful lakes, fountains, waterwheel, landscaping facilities such as grass square, evergreen water square, Yeokmal Square, and Hwang Sae-ul Square, and various sports facilities such as badminton court, gate ball field, and gas field. Various cultural events and performances will be held at the outdoor performance hall.
In particular, Bundang Lake in the park is a pond built by attracting Bundang Stream and is designed with the same traditional beauty as Gyeongju Anapji. 'Dolmagak' and 'Sunaejeong' are popular courses of Bundang Lake, which are made of Gyeonghoeru Pavilion in Gyeongbokgung Palace and Aeryunjeong Pavilion in Changdeokgung Palace.
The site of the central park was originally the clan village of Hansan Yi, and the house of Sunae-dong, the closing house of Hansan Yi, the tomb of Lee Jang-yoon, the grandfather of Tojeong Yi Ji-ham, and the graveyard of Yi's clan association are also located. Around the house, large zelkova trees, ponds, and pavilions at the entrance of the village were preserved and established as facilities for the park.
