The Kerala Government has brought in a new law triggering a big controversy. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan signed an ordinance amending the Kerala Police Act more power to check online abuse. According to the ordinance, Kerala Police can provide jail term for any social media or that is deemed as offensive or threatening.
The new law, however, has brought in criticism for the Pinarayi government. BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao said that the Left has been thoroughly exposed and called it a draconian law. He further questioned that ‘Is this the liberal spirit the Left believes in?’
