Nigel Ashton, Leader in name only, of North Somerset Council. He uses the magic, "We", and says, "We have come out of it extremely well". Of course NSC staff need congratulating for their hard work. As for the councillors, well in Portishead we cannot congratulate them for the Skatepark. We cannot congratulate them on the roads and infrastructure. Nor the problems at the Lake Grounds and that infamous Green Flag. Nor the Golf Course fiasco. Nor the bench that by now should have been reinstated on the Royal Pier Path. Nor the massive development with little social housing. Nor for the access reinstatement on the Old Sea Wall Coastal Path. Nor Cabstand Traffic Lights. Nor Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve. Nor Portishead Open Air Pool. Nor road safety on Avon Way. Nor for the pot holes in South Avenue and Beach Road East. Nor for the roundabout development by St Joseph's School. We are not far from Clapton and we definitely cannot thank Nigel Asston for his part in the speed bumps and 20 mph limit by Naish Hill which cannot in any way be justified or prioritised before Portishead. Could go on.... And what of those recommendations to NSC as part of the review, well we didn't hear about them!
