Although subscision is most often used to treat acne scars, it may also help reduce scars caused by other conditions, like:
* chicken pox
* wounds
* surgery
An anaesthetic will be used and this will be allowed to take effect local, feeling no pain but some slight tugging.
You may need between 1 to 3 acne subscision treatments to see optimal results, however, all patients are unique and the estimated number of treatments you will need, will be discussed in your pre-treatment consultation.
Which scars do not benefit from subscision?
If you have ice-pick scars, red or pigmented scars, stretched or keloid scars, subscision will not be a suitable option. You can discuss alternative treatments at an acne scar consultation with one of the Dr. Medispa team.
