What is beta? Stock Market Terms Explained

Beta-weighting and portfolio balance is an investing strategy that stock market traders and investors use to minimize risk, collect dividends, and potentially earn small, consistent returns.

Beta-weighting is the measure of the volatility of a stock in comparison to the S&P 500.
Understanding beta can also allow a trader to quickly know if a stock is bullish or bearish, and also how fast or slow that stock is moving in comparison to the S&P 500.
