A bill has been introduced in parliament that could legalise assisted dying in England and Wales.
If passed, the new legislation would allow terminally ill adults to end their life with medical help.
It was brought to the House of Commons by Labour MP Kim Leadbeater, who said the current law is outdated given a shift in public opinion, and the new bill will have "layers of safeguards and protections" in place.
Several charities have taken a neutral stance on assisted dying but warn that end-of-life care is already under significant stress.
Sky’s health correspondent Ashish Joshi has more on the debate.
