Wine Making is in Nicolas Ruedin’s blood, dating all the way back to the 12th century, where the name “Ruedin” makes its first appearance in the written records. By 1614, the domain (winery) was already known in Cressier, Switzerland.

➡️ Pinot noir covers about 50% of the total planted vines at domaine Ruedin, Chasselas makes up 35%, Chardonnay 5%, Pinot Gris 5% and Gamaret 5% of all vineyards.

Situated at the foot of the Jura mountains, the village of Cressier has a beautiful castle and impressive mansion houses, most of which date from the 15th century. The vineyards are perched along the lower slopes (which can be very steep) of the Jura, between 430m and 550m (1,420 ft and 1,820 ft.)

Switzerland’s best-hidden treasure is arguably its wine, and it was great to learn from Nicolas and all about the wines of Domaine Ruedin. A secret I hope more people pass on.
