To mark the 2023 International Day of Women Judges, UNODC’s Global Judicial Integrity Network convened an interactive webinar on the importance of promoting the active participation of women in the judiciary.
Bringing together a broad range of speakers, and featuring personal stories and experiences of several senior female judges from around the world, the webinar broached topics such as barriers faced in accessing or advancing in the judiciary, existing challenges related to gender discrimination, stereotyping or biases, strategies and measures that might effectively promote women’s participation in the judiciary, and the importance of peer-support.
