R.C. Majumdar remains one of the world-class scholars of history. The manner in which he was hounded out by a bunch of insecure Congress politicians is utterly disgraceful. Majumdar's crime was to declare that he would write the history of the Indian freedom struggle by critically examining the roles of Mohandas Gandhi, Nehru and other Congress leaders was his crime.
