The Capitoline Hill is one of the seven ancient hills of Rome and once the site of the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus. In 1536, Pope Paul III asked Michelangelo to rebuild the hill and restore it to its former glory. The result was one of the most beautiful architectural spaces ever built!
