In tonight's edition: Al Shabaab launches an attack on the Ambassador hotel on Mogadishu, four people have been killed in Mali in attacks targeting the UN peacekeeping mission, and Nigerian car manufacturers are profiting from a drop in imports.
In the latest violence to rock Mali, a UN peacekeeper from China and three members of a UN demining unit have been killed in the country's north. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
And in the Democratic Republic of Congo, experts are sounding the alarm over pollution in the country’s southern mining region. Toxic waste is being blamed for environmental damage and health problems.
