China and Mongolia are willing to develop comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefit of their peoples, said Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj at a meeting Tuesday in Beijing.
Welcoming Elbegdorj to pay a state visit to China, Xi said Mongolia is a good neighbor, good friend and good partner of China.
The bilateral ties are at the best period of development in history and the development of comprehensive strategic partnership is in the common interest of both sides and is supported by their peoples, he added.
China attaches great importance to the bilateral relations, and takes it as a priority in China's diplomacy with neighboring countries, he said.
China respects Mongolia's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, Xi said, adding China also respects the independent choice of Mongolian people for their development path.
China will adhere to the idea of kindness, honesty, reciprocity and inclusiveness to develop China-Mongolia relations, and will stick to the principle of mutual benefit to carry out pragmatic cooperation, he said.
China appreciates Mongolia putting relations with China in the first place in its foreign policy and firmly pursuing the one-China policy, Xi said.
Xi hoped the two sides could further push cooperation on politics, economy, military and culture to realize win-win and mutual development.
On his part, Elbegdorj said Mongolia agrees to and is willing to commit to the China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership, hoping his current visit can deepen bilateral relations.
Mongolia takes the friendly relations between China and Mongolia as the priority in its foreign policy, and is willing to maintain close high-level contact with China in legislation, national defense and peacekeeping.
Mongolia hopes to promote bilateral trade by improving negations and port management, Elbegdorj said.
Mongolia wishes to enhance cooperation with China on animal husbandry, quarantine of animals and plants, cultural, education, technology, and health, he said.
Mongolia puts a high value on cooperation among Mongolia, China and Russia, and on China's stance and proposition in multilateral affairs, and is willing to keep close communication and coordination with China.
The two leaders also witnessed the signing of a series of bilateral cooperation documents on economic technologies, food safety, infrastructure, aviation, energy and finance.
