When we first stepped into Animator's Palate, WOW we are amazed. our favourite incarnation of Mickey Mouse is Steamboat Willie. So the first thing I noticed was the chairs.
We wondered if we could fit a couple them in my suitcases. The restaurant is themed around Disney animation and art, with Disney movie sketches all over the walls. This is present throughout the entire restaurant, and even up to the ceiling.
We had Animator's Palate on our second night. So this was the second time we met our service team who with us for all our nights on the cruise. When you're sat at your table, you're presented with two templates and a coloured pen each. After our server team introduced themselves, they told us to draw a character on our sheets of paper which will then be used later on in a show.
We had no idea what was going to happen with this, so we drew our characters and then handed them to our servers when we were finished.
Later on in the meal, your characters are brought to life in an animation show displayed on the screens all around the restaurant. However, if you've booked Magic At Sea or planning to book, I wouldn't watch it, as it's something you will want to see for the first time in person.
The restaurant lighting changes throughout the meal (depending on what's playing on the screen). There's some sorcerer Mickey, just in case you were worried!
Our servers were great. The atmosphere of the restaurant was just fantastic. The food was spot on. The Disney animation theme which is carried throughout was amazing, and the show and musical numbers were was a brilliant welcome back to Disney dining and got us even more excited (if that were possible) for the rest of the cruise. It really was the perfect evening on the Magic At Sea.
