Praised as a "mesmerizing mezzo-soprano with a fiery theatrical presence and dynamic vocalism" by Opera News, Briana Hunter is set to release her latest album, "Dispersed and Transcendental Chants," with pianist Eric Sedgwick on November 17, 2023. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural, religious, and spiritual traditions of the African diaspora, the song cycle comprises 12 pieces, skillfully composed by Colombian composer, Julián De La Chica. The album artfully depicts a blend of African-American heritage and contemporary sounds, inviting listeners on a journey through the singer’s self-discovery through the lens of culture and lineage.

"Dispersed and Transcendental Chants" debuted in December 2022 on the stage of Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Music Center, which commissioned the cycle.
