Residents of Katlehong on Gautengs East Rand, have embarked on a chaotic protest action after two weeks without electricity. Police had their hands full after protesters barricaded roads leading into the Ekurhuleni township. It comes as Cabinet on Friday appointed Brian Molefe as chief executive of power utility Eskom. Molefe had been acting in this capacity since mid-April when, he was drafted in from the rail agency, Transnet to try and stabilise the troubled electricity producer.
