Meet Howard, a Kennedy Krieger patient with a spinal cord injury. Following routine back surgery in 2014, Howard developed an infection in his spinal column. A few weeks later, Howard collapsed, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. When coming to Kennedy Krieger in 2015, Howard could not walk without the support of a therapist or body weight support. With the assistance of his husband, Patrick, Howard is now walking with a cane short distances. From the very first day at Kennedy Krieger, Howard began to see a picture of a brighter future.
