UN agencies are warning that nearly 1.9 million people in Madagascar don't have enough to eat. Almost half the children under the age of five suffer from chronic malnutrition, that's the fourth highest rate in the world. According to recent reports families are dealing with food shortages by cutting down on daily meals, taking children out of school and scavenging for food in the wild. Despite this, aid to this African island nation has steadily gone down over the years. Madagascar's ongoing humanitarian crisis often doesn't even make it on the list of international aid initiatives. So why is that?
