Maureen Folk will discuss the Million Dollar Beach site in Lake George, NY and what the artifacts can highlight about life in the Adirondacks 10,000 years ago.
Maureen will be focusing on how stone tools were made and used in the ancient past. Various tools were integral to the success and survival of people at this time. Projectile points would have been used for hunting animals while some stones would have been used for cooking. As she walks through the artifacts, Maureen will build the narrative of what daily life may have looked like for Indigenous people at this site.
