Hey people! I know its been a while since I did one these videos, but since COVID my circumstances changed. What I mean is I have other goals/dreams I wanted to try out. So, I did. I started another YouTube channel with one of my favorite hobbies, RC's. If you're interested I'll leave a link below.
So, I got my hands on this 2021 Chevy Bolt and thought why not do a quick POV video on it. It was a last minutes decision and it shows. I actually drove this guy and put over 100 miles on it. It only had 49 and about 157 when I was finished.
The torque is unbelievable I mean instant power. She has an electric motor mated to a CVT transmission. You can probably pick one of these up for under 30K if you shop around. This compact hatchback has room for four average sized adults. The main radio knob could have been put in a better spot, LOL. I found myself constantly looking for it because of its location the steering wheel hides it, it's hard to find while driving.
Speaking of driving, she gets up to highway speeds quick. You could easily hit 80 MPH and feel like you're only doing 40. The sound system is basic, but there is an option to get the BOSE speakers. You will need some kind of sound because the thing is just quiet. With the radio off all I could hear is the surrounding traffic.
It's no Tesla (NOT THAT I"VE DRIVEN ONE) but hear me out. It's a good car for the price if you just need something to get around town locally. Longer trips will need to be well planned out. I also found myself constantly looking at the battery gauge to see if I had enough battery life left. With gas, there are stations everywhere. There are no charging stations on the highways. Here is the another factor that you need to consider. Chevy the will cease production of the Bolt in 2023. Yup, the Bolt will be a wrap at the end of this year. Would I buy one? No, not for the price. If it's under 15K with decent miles then you may have my attention. I'm just not ready for the EV scene. I prefer the sound of my V8 Mustang GT COBRA! 😁
