A beginner’s guide to what you can see in the night sky at this time of year, including highlights chosen by local astronomers. This talk is taking place online, once you register you will receive joining instructions. Please contact vis@roe.ac.uk if you have any questions.
The night sky is a wonder of nature that is free for everyone to enjoy. Do you want to know what to look for when you look up at a starry sky but don't know where to start? Do you know your constellations from your asterisms? Or have you always wondered what exactly a modern astronomer does? Before you head out into the cold, join us from the comfort of home on a virtual night sky tour!
Join the Royal Observatory Edinburgh Visitor Centre team and guest astronomers to explore the top things to spot in the night sky! No experience of stargazing is needed, and there will be a chance to ask questions at the end of this webinar.
We will use a freely available programme called Stellarium, which can be found here; Stellarium.org. Content featured will be as seen from northern hemisphere skies (UK).
