Hello and Greetings from Bodo Kachari people in Assam, India.
In our Bodo language we say "Ang Nwng khou mwjang mwnw" which means i love you.
Bodo-Kachari, or just Kachari, is a generic term applied to a number of ethnic groups, predominantly in Assam, speaking Tibeto-Burman languages or claiming a common ancestry.
Why do we look different from mainstream Indian?
Because we are Kirat, one the most ancient people of the world who had our own civilization and kingdom.
Who are Kirat?
Kiratas are Mongoloid race people. They are recorded as yellow skin people in the ancient vedic texts.
Kiratas first appear in the Yajur Veda (Shukla XXX.16; Krisha III.4,12,1)
and in the Atharva Veda (X.4,14) describing them as "mountain people and hunters in the forests and deadly warriors."
Kiratas are described as gold-like, i.e, yellow in color per vedic texts.
"Kairatam vesam asthaya kancana-druma-sannibham"
Taking up a Kirata resemblance, like unto a tree of gold (IV,35,2
Kirat territories stretched from present day northwest India to Nepal and to northeast of India as mentioned in various ancient texts and literature. They were widespread in the folds and valleys of Himalayas in Nepal and Bhutan, and in the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam and Tripura.
