The Islamabad High Court has granted PTI chairman protective bail for two weeks in a case registered against him for the murder of Senior Court lawyer Abdul Razzaq Shar. The lawyer was shot dead in Quetta earlier this week.
Mr Shar had filed a constitutional petition in the Balochistan High Court seeking Article 6 proceedings against the PTI chief and Qasim Khan Suri for illegally dissolving the National Assembly after the joint opposition had moved a no-trust motion against the PTI government in April 2022.
Article 6 pertains to high treason.
Following his murder, Mr Shar’s son nominated Imran Khan in the police complaint.
