Jean Dujardin of The Artist won Best Actor at the 2012 Academy Awards.
The Frenchman, who was up against industry heavyweights George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Gary Oldman, and Demian Bichir, started his speech on a patriotic note, proclaiming, "I love your country!" and went on to thank the director of The Artist, Michel Hazanavicius, his on-screen counterpart Berenice Bejo, the cast and crew, his wife, and even threw in some over-excited words in French.
