Rotavirus is the leading cause of diarrhoea in children aged below five and it is highly contagious. An estimated 10,637 children under five years die in Uganda each year due to rotavirus diarrhoea. Now, the government of Uganda through the health ministry has introduced into the Routine Immunization Schedule the Rotavirus vaccine, to protect the children.
