Culturethèque had a friendly chat with illustrator and children's writer Quentin Blake about his interest in French culture.
Born in 1932 in London, Sir Quentin Blake is most famously known for his partnership with Road Dahl and for illustrating books such as 'Matilda', 'James and the Giant Peach' and 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. According to his website, he "has drawn ever since he can remember'. The use of ink and watercolours are the most characteristic aspects of his drawings. Quentin Blake is a long-time francophile: he has taught English at the Lycée français de Londres, has created drawings for several hospitals in France and has been awarded the Légion d'Honneur in 2014.
