Returning south on the Illinois Central Main, Southern No. 401 gets caught in a heavy shower, drenching passengers in the open-air car. While waiting for the mixed train to clear, pulled by the museum's newest locomotive acquisition, C&IM No. 31, the open car emptied. On a later run into town, the weather has cleared.
