Armed with nine 16-inch guns, twenty 5-inch guns, and numerous anti-aircraft guns, the U.S.S. Alabama (BB-60) was a formidable battleship that played a key role in many important battles.
The ship also served as a training vessel for midshipmen and played a prominent role in the post-war Navy Day celebrations in New York City.
The U.S.S. Alabama (BB-60) is now a museum ship, located at Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile, Alabama. Visitors can tour the ship and learn about its history and significance in the U.S. Navy.
