Anne Arundel County is filing a civil lawsuit as part of a major new strategy in its fight against the growing opioid epidemic. The lawsuit is a first for Maryland and is one of about 40 nationwide. The numbers in Anne Arundel County are staggering. As of Tuesday, the Health Department said that so far this year, there have been 740 overdoses, 96 of which were fatal.
