US Department of Justice has charged Indian national Nikhil Gupta in connection with a foiled plot to assassinate Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a prominent Khalistani separatist leader. The indictment reveals that an unnamed Indian government employee, referred to as 'CC-1,' directed the assassination attempt from India. US has now confirmed that 'CC1,' key figure in plot to kill Khalistani leader Pannun no longer Indian government employee.
