The Uspenskoe estate revitalisation project is a unique challenge.
The territory of Uspenskoe Castle is located on lands that have been known since ancient times and have a rich historical and cultural significance. The generous layers of history that have shaped this place are echoed in our vision for the development of the estate complex. Our method is based on the principle of ‘vitalisation’, the principle of treating a place as a living organism. In such an attitude, this organism has a ‘heart’ - the castle, there will be a ‘head’ - the existing former medical building, which will become an innovative educational cluster. In concept so will appear: ‘body’ - pavilions with different functionalities on the territory of the forest, “soul” - a girdling path that penetrates the whole forest and becomes at the end of the path a pier connecting the river with the territory. The whole concept of the development is based on the maximum parsimony of the existing landscape and structures. That is why all pavilions, paths, parterre, forum, pier, etc. are non-capital wooden structures, and the former medical building is ‘dressed’ in a non-capital ‘necklace’ that mimics the surrounding greenery.
