The Department of Basic Education has been fined R5-million in relation to the publication of the 2024 matric results.
The Information Regulator of South Africa hit the department for not upholding its last notice, which blocked the department from publishing the 2024 matric results in national newspapers.

For more on this, we are now joined virtually by the chairperson of the Information Regulator, Advocate Pansy Tlakula.
