Georg Philipp Telemann (Magdeburg, Sacro Roman Empire Germanic, March 14Jul. / March 24, 1681ggreg. - Hamburg, Sacro Roman Empire Germanic, June 25, 1767) was a German Baroque composer, although his work also had characteristics of principles of classicism. He is considered the most prolific composer in the history of music. Self-taught in music, he studied laws at Leipzig University. He was contemporary Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Friedrich Händel.
