Jean Kinney –Painter and Handweaver, is our featured artist this week. A Bellingham native and educator, Jean loves the challenge of translating the 3 dimensional world to the 2 dimensional world of the canvas, using pastels, watercolors, oils and gouache to bring her paintings of people, landscapes, birds, animals and flowers to life.

Discovering fiber arts, Jean is also a handweaver, delighting in the colors and textures of yarn to weave her unique ‘shruggs’. On-site Saturday 24th, 1-3pm, she will demonstrate rigid heddle loom weaving, and Sunday 25th, 1-3pm, painting a live model’s portrait in pastels.
