Beautiful Christmas markets that aren't so packed you can't walk? Yes please! Even though the Christmas markets in neighboring Cologne are more famous, the ones in Düsseldorf are definitely also worth a visit.
Many of the markets are located within a few blocks of city center along the river and amidst cozy shopping streets. Bring cash, and enjoy not having to wait 20 minutes to get Glühwein.
