IBRAHIM TAHIR is a bookseller, editor, and translator at Wardah Books. He is currently translating Latiff Mohidin’s ‘Garis: Dari titik ke titik’ from Bahasa Melayu into English.

The Gallery’s latest exhibition Latiff Mohidin: Pago Pago opened on 26 March 2020, shortly before Singapore initiated Circuit Breaker 1.0. Developed during the tumultuous years of the Vietnam War, Pago Pago is a body of paintings and writings that meditates upon humanity’s ability to endure adversity. In this spirit, we invited writers Pauline Fan and Eddin Khoo, Alfian Sa’at and Ibrahim Tahir to read Latiff Mohidin’s writings from the period.

Recorded over Skype by Bani Haykal, each reader wanders through the sensorial capacities and imaginative frontiers of Latiff Mohidin’s words with the hope that by reading poetry we may find different ways to think about this new world that has been thrust upon us.
