Today we visit the beach and I demonstrate three easy ways you can use seaweed in your garden. I take bags with me almost every time I visit the ocean so I can get this great stuff for my homestead.

Seaweed is an abundant renewable resource that is loaded with minerals that plants crave. Like Brawndo.

You can add seaweed to compost, use seaweed as mulch, and make liquid seaweed fertilizer for a quick plant pick-me-up. Kelp meal is a common addition to gardens; however, as it comes from the Pacific, I avoid it due to the continuing leakage entering the ocean from Fukushima. Better to use sargassum on the Atlantic side, or whatever seaweed you find.
