[Note on Koriki (or Korikky)]
The man, who is dancing with HINOI Team in this video, is Koriki Choshu. He is a comedian and a wrestler. He belongs to a group called "Nishiguchi Pro-wres" (it means "West-Gate Professional wrestling"). But this group is not a pure wrestling group. It is a half comedy group and all the members are comedians. They produce half comedy shows that imitate real pro-wrestling. Some of their ring names are parodies of real famous wrestlers. "Koriki Choshu", too, is such a parody and it was taken form a famous wrestler's name "Riki Choshu". The real wrestler Riki Choshu is a big guy but Koriki Choshu is rather a short guy compared with ordinary Japanese. "Ko-"(小) in his name (Ko-Riki) means "little", so "Koriki" means "a little Riki". He imitates a fiery powerful wrestler with his small body. So the imitation becomes very comical.
The reason why Koriki collaborated with HINOI Team is as follows. One day, Koriki was asked by someone "What do you want to do next?" and he replied "Maybe I'll do Para Para". This reply was a joke but he actualized it on a stage. He performed a fiery wrestler who, listening to Eurobeat music, began to dance Para Para and became cheerful. This performance got high popularity and Koriki became famous. Koriki usually used the original version of "Night of Fire" by NIKO ["Super Eurobeat" vol. 82 (1997)] on his Para Para dance. I suppose that Avex proposed Koriki the collaboration with HINOI Team, becauce of the popularity of his Para Para performance. Koriki's first collaboration with HINOI Team was not in "Night of Fire", but in "Koriki Version" of "IKE IKE" in +Video Disc version of second single "King Kong". They collaborated in three singles and one album ("King Kong", "Night of Fire", "Sticky Tricky and Bang" and "Super Euro Party"). On March 25 2006, Koriki's graduation from the collaboration with HINOI Team was celebrated and the collaboration ended.
The name "Korikky" is a special nickname or artist (?) name, used only when Koriki collaborated with HINOI Team. The pronunciation of "Korikky" is different from "Koriki" in two points. One point is that the former has a double consonant "kk". Another point is that the LAST VOWEL of the "Korikky" is LONG, just like "lucky" or "Rocky" [but much longer than these English words], to the contrary the LAST VOWEL of the "Koriki" is VERY SHORT (as ordinary pronunciation of "i" in Japanese). So it isn't correct to write the nickname as "Korikki". "Korikky" is a nickname imitating the way in which English-speaking people sometimes name a black dog "Blacky". (It may be that we should write it rather as "Koricky".) The nickname was originally used by the members of HINOI Team privately at the time when Koriki collaborated with them in "Koriki Version of IKE IKE" (in "KING KONG"), though on the disc his name was written as "Koriki", not as "Korikky". He said later that he decided to use the nickname given by HINOI Team as an artist name when he performed with them. Then the notation "Korikky" was appeared at first time on the disc of "Night of Fire".
[Riddle of the "story" in this video]
In an article on the release of third single "Night of Fire", Keika and Hikaru talked about the "story" and "a miracle" in this video.
Keika Matsuoka : "In the video Korikky plays King of Fire and we play the parts of Princesses (Keika Princess of "Wind", Hikaru Princess of "Light", Asuka Princess of "Flower" and Rina Princess of "Water", respectively). The video has a story properly. Please check it."
Hikaru Koyama : "There is a scene in which Korikky throw a food and at that moment a miracle happened. It isn't a noticable scene. So I'll be happy, if you search it."
Perhaps the four emblems (or crests), which appear frequently in this video, express "Flower", "Light", "Water" and "Wind". But what is the "story"? I've watched this video agin and again. However, I couldn't find it. What is the "miracle"? In truth Koriki (King of Fire) throws a food which appears to be a fruit (a fig?) and it get on a candlestand by chance. Immediately after this the King of Fire seems to become ferocious and the Princesses begin to be scared. After the moment when King of Fire is attacked by four Princesses with four beams, he becomes gentle and takes a similar fruit with his fingers. But so what? Could you find the "story" and the "miracle"?
