It likely won't be long before Tropical Depression Three becomes the season's next tropical storm, Bret — and, eventually, this year's first hurricane.
The depression formed Monday morning following several days of National Hurricane Center forecasters keeping a close eye on it.
Tropical Depression Three has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph and is located about 1,425 miles east of the southern Windward Islands, according to the hurricane center's latest advisory.
It's moving west at 21 mph.
