ফুটলো যেদিন ফাল্গুনে, হায়, প্রথম গোলাপ-কুঁড়ি
বিলাপ গেয়ে বুলবুলি মোর গেল কোথায় উড়ি।।
কিসের আশায় গোলাপ বনে
গাইতো সে গান আপন মনে,
লতার সনে পাতার সনে খেতো লুকোচুরি (হায়)
সেই লতাতে প্রথম প্রেমের ফুটলো মুকুল যবে
পালিয়ে গেল ভীরু পাখি অমনি নীরবে।
বাসলে ভালো যে জন কাঁদে
বাঁধবো তা'রে কোন সে ফাঁদে,
ফুল নিয়ে তাই অবসাদে বনের পথে ঘুরি (হায়)।।
