Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has concluded a whirlwind 48 hours in Sweden, meeting Nordic and Baltic leaders. Today, he signed a new strategic agreement with his Swedish counterpart, Ulf Kristersson.
Russian missile and drone attacks across Ukraine have left at least five people dead and 25 others injured. Local authorities have described it as a “massive” overnight assault targeting the country’s energy infrastructure in the early hours of Thursday morning.
As Ukraine faces its most intense aerial attacks since the war began, the Wall Street Journal reports that the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden may be unable to deliver all pledged military aid before Donald Trump’s inauguration. While the president-elect’s strategy for resolving the conflict remains unclear, he has appointed a special envoy to oversee peace efforts between Ukraine and Russia.
