NATO is upgrading its plans to defend Alliance territory, increasing its force readiness, and aligning forces to the defense of specific geographical areas. This will enable NATO to respond to crises with more forces at shorter notice. We are also strengthening our forward defenses and testing our ability to quickly reinforce Allies on NATO’s Eastern Flank.
And that’s not all. Alongside this military adaptation, Allies continue to strengthen the Alliance’s capacity to address all threats to Transatlantic security, including terrorism; the malign use of emerging and disruptive technologies; malicious cyber, space, and hybrid information operations (including misinformation and disinformation); as well as Russia’s aggressive actions.
