In this video I’m showing you how I knit a ruffle edge in the flat. I’ve used it for the bottom of my dress pattern, it would be lovely on a scarf, skirt, a baby hat, pretty much anything, a baby blanket finished with a ruffle edge would look so lovely as well.
It can easily be worked in the round, the row repeat would be the same.
The ruffle is worked on a multiple of 4 sts on 10 rows/ rounds
Abbreviations :
p - purl
k- knit
yo- yarn over
ssk- slip, slip, knit through the back loop
k2tog- knit two together
s2kp- slip 2, knit 1, pass the slipped sts over
R1: p1, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1
R2,4,6,8,10: knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts
R3: p1, k1, yo, k3, yo, k1
R5: p1, k1, yo, k5, yo, k1
R7: p1, k1, yo, ssk, yo, s2kp, yo, k2tog, yo, k1
R9: p1, k2, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, k2
R11: bind off all sts
