The federal government announced Friday that it will impose sanctions directly on Russian President Vladimir Putin and his inner circle of advisers, while supporting Russia's removal from the international banking system, SWIFT. The measures are the latest hits by Canada and its allies against the Kremlin for invading Ukraine.
