Hi Teachers! This is Lesson 7 in my instructional video series that teaches our kids how to navigate paired passages, making use of the RACE (or RACES!) writing strategy. Feel free to take a look at my quick informational video (linked below) that will tell you more about the video series.
There are 10 video lessons in this series (see titles below), and I teach the concepts gradually one step at a time with student independent practice in between some of the video sessions! You will need the Paired Passages resource used throughout the video lessons which includes the student practice pages (print and digital), and that is linked below.

So you would:
1.) Play the video in class or assign for kids to watch at home (or teach the lessons using the lesson plans included in resource!)
2.) Assign the practice activities either in the classroom or to kids digitally online at home (found in the resource)
3.) Review student work (answer key included in resource)
4.) Move on to the next video lesson when ready
Teacher Directions for THIS SPECIFIC VIDEO (Lesson 7):
1.) Assign this video for students to watch
2.) Assign the two sets of short paired passages: Set 1 Ryan Cleans Up/Pull Those Weeds, Set 2 The Best Pet/Cats (print or digital, assign one set at a time)
3.) Review student work on the above assignments one set at a time in case corrections need to be made (answer key included)
4.) Move on to video lesson 8
