SME chapter 76 hosted a tour and demo ride on the hovercraft golf cart at Windy Knoll Golf Course in Springfield, OH. Windy Knoll owns the first two production models of these carts that were inspired by a prototype that Bubba Watson tested. You may have seen the cart on the Golf Channel or one of many national news outlets this summer when the course hosted Hover Bash to unveil them. Yours truly had to opportunity to climb into the passenger seat for this unique experience. It was setting up to be a cool video until we got a little off balance in the water hazard and I ended up shooting the back of the driver's seat trying not to get soaked. I wouldn't want to use it for a round of golf; but it has to be one of the coolest marketing gimmicks that any course could have.
